During the past weekend, the thai society held this thai festival called Loy Krathong. This is festival is a time where Thai people pay respect to the Goddess of Water. ‘Loy’ means floats and ’Krathong’ means a raft. The Krathong is made out of banana tree trunk and is then decorated with delicately folded banana leaves and colourful flowers. Here are some examples of the traditional Krathong.
But since we do not have any of the traditionally used materials therefore we came up with the idea of making Krathong out of colourful papers instead. The Thai society took this opportunity to teach other non-thai member to make one as well and turned it into a little competition. Guess what? My group won!!!! Here is a picture of what we ended up with.
My group was extremely creative.
